The third procedure we recommend for the winter months is microneedling or microneedling with radiofrequency heat. Microneedling is perfect for the winter months because we recommend not being in the sun for a week before or a week after your treatment.
The microneedling process is a handheld device with tiny needles on the tip, we numbs you entirely, meaning you are not in pain during the procedure. The microneedles leave little holes which close up quickly after the process. The microneedles develop an injury to the skin, which will help stimulate collagen formation and growth. As the body repairs those little microneedle channels, your body will go to work and start stimulating collagen. The collagen improves the texture and fine lines on the superficial layer of skin.
Six months after the treatment you will see your skin glowing, at its best!
There is some downtime with microneedling. On the first day following the procedure, we ask you not to use any makeup. For about three days following the procedure you will feel dry, and be slightly red and irritated, however you can put makeup on during this phase along with calming lotions to hydrate the skin.
Microneedling with radiofrequency is another excellent option for your skin regarding texture and repair. The heat will come out of the tip of the needles and penetrate the tissue to give you more of a tightening effect. If you are looking for texture and tightening, then the radiofrequency heat is very beneficial for you to include in your treatment session. Radiofrequency micro-needling is most popular for patients who want to improve their necks. The skin on the neck is seven times thinner than the rest of our face, so this area tends to get laxer earlier—it does not seem to want to snap back as quickly.
